When his wife dies, a teacher that's close to being unemployed finds an strange warmth in his film student. Unbeknownst to his school board, he pays her $5 a week to talk/hang out with him until she graduates.

    This day reminds me of the movie we saw a clip of (I think it was "Welcome to the Rileys")
